Ways of cholesterol transformation are represented thoroughly; proteins regulating its transportation are described. Important place takes the role of high density lipoproteins in backward transportation of cholesterol from peripheral tissues. Possibilities of pharmacological activation of this system, aimed at prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis are discussed.</p>
Обсуждаются возможности фармакологической активации этой системы с целью предупреждения и лечения атеросклероза.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>липопротеиды высокой плотности</kwd><kwd>ацил-КоА:холестерин ацилтрансфераза</kwd><kwd>лецитин-холестерин ацилтрансфераза</kwd><kwd>белки-переносчики</kwd><kwd>скавенджер-рецептор</kwd><kwd>аторвастатин</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>high density lipoproteins</kwd><kwd>acyl-KoA: cholesterol acyltransferase</kwd><kwd>lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase</kwd><kwd>proteins-carriers</kwd><kwd>scavenger-receptor</kwd><kwd>atorvastatin</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Tall AK.
