To study effect of 12-month therapy with lovastatin on vascular remodeling, systolic and diastolic functions of left ventricle (LV).</p></sec><sec><title>Material and methods</title><p>Material and methods. 84 patients (54,3±6,5 y.o.) with ischemic heart disease (IHD) and dislipoproteinemia were involved in the study. Patients were randomized into 2 groups. Patients of the 1st group (n=44) received lovastatin (20-60 mg daily) in addition to hypolipidemic diet and standard therapy. Patients of the 2nd group (n=39) were treated with diet and standard therapy only. Lipid spectrum and transaminase blood levels estimation, carotid duplex ultrasonography, echocardiography were performed initially and after 12 months of treatment.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. Decrease of carotid intima-media thickness, delay of increasing of LV myocardium mass index, increase of LV ejection fraction was observed in 12 months of treatment in patients of the 1st group. There were not any changes of LV diastolic function in both groups.</p></sec><sec><title>The conclusion</title><p>The conclusion. In patients with IHD and dislipoproteinemia 12 month lovastatin therapy prevents of vascular remodeling and improves LV systolic function.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><sec><title>Цель</title><p>Цель. Изучить влияние 12-месячной терапии ловастатином на сосудистое ремоделирование, систолическую и диастолическую функции левого желудочка (ЛЖ).</p></sec><sec><title>Материал и методы</title><p>Материал и методы. В исследование были включены 84 пациента с ишемической болезнью сердца (ИБС) и дислипидемией в возрасте 42-65 (54,3±6,5) лет. Больных рандомизировали по группам: в 1-й группе (n=44) дополнительно к гиполипидемической диете и стандартной базисной терапии назначали ловастатин (20-60 мг/сут); во 2-й группе (n=39) применялись только диета и стандартная базисная терапия. Исходно и через 12 мес определяли липидный спектр, трансаминазы; про- водили дуплексное сканирование сонных артерий, эхокардиографию.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. По завершении 12-месячного периода лечения ловастатином в 1-й группе наряду с гиполипидемическим эффектом выявлены снижение толщины комплекса интима-медиа сонных артерий, замедление нарастания индекса массы миокарда ЛЖ, повышение фракции выброса ЛЖ. Изменения показателей диастолической функции ЛЖ отсутствовали в обеих группах.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение.
