The use of systematic reviews and high-quality meta-analysis is an analytical basis of evidence-based medicine, it is a very valuable tool for decision-making at the level of practitioner, health care leaders and experts in the preparation of guidelines and legislation concerning the use of the most effective and safe treatments, when planning future research, in the development of rational health policy. Features of methods of systematic review and meta-analysis and their strengths and weaknesses are discussed in the article. The authors present the historical facts of occurrence of the Cochrane Collaboration, whose main task is to systematize and analyze accumulated information from a variety of medical research. The contribution of Russian researchers into this field of medical science is also assessed.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В связи с появлением колоссального количества исследований и публикаций в самых различных областях медицины, существенным увеличением объема однотипной информации, неспособностью выявить в отдельных исследованиях слабо выраженные эффекты – все больший интерес и популярность приобретают методы, позволяющие систематизировать накопленную информацию по конкретно сформулированным вопросам, проанализировать ее и сделать достоверные выводы. Поэтому использование систематических обзоров и мета-анализов высокого качества, составляющих основу аналитической базы доказательной медицины, является очень ценным инструментом при принятии решений как на уровне практикующего врача, так и на уровне организаторов здравоохранения и экспертов при подготовке рекомендаций и законодательных актов, касающихся применения наиболее эффективных и безопасных методов лечения, планирования будущих исследований, выработки общей, наиболее рациональной политики здравоохранения. В статье рассматриваются особенности методов систематического обзора и мета-анализа, их сильные и слабые стороны, приводятся исторические факты образования Кокрановского сотрудничества – организации, основной задачей которой является систематизация и анализ накопленной в разных областях медицины исследовательской информации, а также оценивается вклад российских ученых в этом направлении медицинской науки.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>систематически обзор</kwd><kwd>мета-анализ</kwd><kwd>публикации</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>systematic review</kwd><kwd>meta-analysis</kwd><kwd>a scientific paper</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Spiegel AS.
