In addition, the results of many clinical studies demonstrate the relationship between impaired sleep duration and the rate of telomere shortening. In turn, short telomeres are associated with the development of arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure, atherosclerosis and other diseases with high mortality both in Russia and worldwide. This article presents an overview of the clinical studies demonstrating the negative effect of sleep duration disturbances on total and cardiovascular mortality, as well as works that specify in detail the relation between sleep duration and telomere length.</p>
В данной статье представлен обзор клинических исследований, дока-зывающих негативное влияние нарушений продолжительности сна на общую и сердечно-сосудистую смертность, а также подробно рассматриваются работы, в кото-рых установлена связь между продолжительностью сна и длиной теломер.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>сон</kwd><kwd>теломеры</kwd><kwd>старение</kwd><kwd>сердечно-сосудистая система</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>sleep</kwd><kwd>telomeres</kwd><kwd>aging</kwd><kwd>cardio-vascular system</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Kovalzon V.M.
