The advantage of aggressive lipid-lowering therapy compared with standard therapy is proven in patients with both stable and acute forms of ischemic heart disease (IHD). Pleiotropic effects, in particular, effect on endothelial function, ability to reduce the blood level of C-reactive protein are important in the statins mode of action. Risk reduction of cardiovascular complications and slow down of atherosclerosis progression in patients with IHD was significantly associated with decrease in levels of both atherogenic lipids and C-reactive protein.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В исследованиях последних лет с использованием аторвастатина и розувастатина была продемонстрирована возможность не только стабилизации, но и обратного развития атеросклеротических бляшек в коронарных артериях. Доказано преимущество агрессивной липидснижающей терапии в сравнении со стандартной терапией как у больных стабильной ишемической болезнью сердца (ИБС), так и с обострениями ИБС. В реализации протективных свойств статинов чрезвычайно важны и их плейотропные эффекты, в частности влияние на функцию эндотелия, способность снижать содержание С-реактивного белка в крови.
