Alyara N. Zakirova – MD, PhD, Professor, Head of Department of Clinical Cardiology of Bashkir State Medical University, Honored Scientist and Doctor of the Republic of Bashkortostan (RB).
Prof. A.N. Zakirova graduated from the Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU); she studied in a clinical internship in the Leningrad Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. All her subsequent professional experience was connected with the BSMU where she passed a difficult way from an assistant, associate professor, professor and head of the Department of Institute of Additional Professional Education of BSMU.
Prof. A.N. Zakirova is a member of the Academic Council of the Health Ministry of the Russian Federation (RF) on Cardiology; Chairperson of the Dissertation Council of BSMU on Cardiology and Neurology; a member of the Dissertation Council on Cardiology of the Ural State Medical Academy.
Prof. A.N. Zakirova is a member of the Management Board and the Advisory Board of the Directorate of Educational Programs of the Russian Society of Cardiology; Member of the Board of the Central Asian Society of Cardiology Turkic-speaking countries; Chairperson of the Bashkir Society of Cardiology; Member of the European Society of Cardiology. She is a Member of the Editorial Board of the peer-reviewed Journals "Rational Pharmacotherapy in Cardiology", "Heart Bulletin", "СardioSomatic".
A.N. Zakirova defended her doctoral thesis «Lipid peroxidation, antioxidant protection and blood rheology in coronary heart disease» in 1995 in the State Research Centre for Preventive Medicine (Moscow). 41 PhD theses on topical problems of cardiology were defended under her guidance. Her research interests focus on the establishment of the role of immunoreactions, endothelial dysfunction, genetic and profibrotic factors in the processes of myocardial remodeling and the development of coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction and sudden death, hypertension and congestive heart failure; elaboration of new diagnostic and prognostic criteria for cardiovascular diseases; scientific justification for the use of innovative treatments. She was the regional coordinator of 3 International and 38 Russian multicenter studies on Cardiology.
Prof. A.N. Zakirova takes an active part in the organization of the Russian, Republican and Iinternational conferences, conducts workshops and symposia, lectures for doctors on topical problems of cardiology. She repeatedly was a member of organizing committee of the Congress of Russian Society of Cardiology, Congress of Cardiology of the Central Asian Turkic-speaking countries, the Cardiology Congress of Volga Federal District. Prof. A.N. Zakirova was a Chief-cardiologist of RB and Chief-cardiologist of Ufa city. She prepared two National and one municipal dedicated programs in cardiology.
Prof. A.N. Zakirova was awarded the Diplomas of the Health Ministry and Education Ministry of the RB. In 2011 she is recognized as the best cardiologists of Ufa and Bashkortostan. In 2006 she was awarded the Diploma of Russian Society of Cardiology «Honorary cardiologist of Russia» for educational activities in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. In 2013 Prof. A.N. Zakirova was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Health Ministry of the RF for achievements in the field of health care and long-term conscientious work.
Prof. A.N. Zakirova is an author of 624 scientific publications, including 18 articles in the International journals, 20 guidelines for doctors.
